Jonathan is a native of Nash county, North Carolina. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2008 and earned his J.D. from Appalachian School of Law in 2013.

While attending law school, Jonathan interned at the Brunswick County District Attorney's Office for two summers (2010-2011). He also helped the DA's office research and write briefs while in law school. Jonathan was the President of the Great Eastern Trail/Spearhead property research team in Buchanan County, Virginia while attending law school. He also helped assist families with family law issues (custody, child support, etc) in the family law clinic ran by Appalachian School of Law.

After graduation Jonathan and his wife, along with their son and daughter moved to the Holden Beach/Supply area where he now focuses on Crimina, Traffic and Family law.
